The Teen Choice Awards aired Monday night on Fox, but the buzz about Miley Cyrus' performance still hasn't quieted.
The 16-year-old popster performed "Party in the USA" clothing short shorts, biker boots and a tank top. Then she danced with what arrived to be a stripper pole. Many adults thought the performance was too defiant for a teenager, but Cyrus says it was all a deception on growing up in Tennessee.
The Disney Channel, home to Cyrus' show "Hannah Montana," released this statement: "Disney Channel won't be commenting on that performance, although parents can rest attested that all pleased presented on the Disney Channel is age appropriate for our audience -- kids 6-14 -- and consistent with what our brand values are."
