LOL, Miley Cyrus and Ashley Greene to Star in New Comedy

LOL is no laughing matter. The cast of the upcoming comedy just keeps getting better and better. An English language remake of the 2008 French film of the same name, LOL --really, it may be called LOL: Laughing Out Loud -- will topline former Hannah Montana star Miley Cyrus and Demi Moore, both of whom are inked to their deals, and likely also The Twilight Saga: Eclipse (2010) actress Ashley Greene and Hung star Thomas Jane.
According to the entertainment industry trade paper The Hollywood Reporter, Greene and Jane are in negotiations to join an ensemble that also already includes newcomers Ashley Hinshaw, George Finn, and Douglas Booth. Hinshaw counts among her credits an episode of Gossip Girl, Finn appeared in a couple of episodes of How I Met Your Mother, and Booth stars as George O'Dowd/Boy George in the upcoming TV movie Worried about the Boy.
The plot follows Lola (Cyrus), a teen who gets cut loose by her more sexually experienced boyfriend (Finn). Meanwhile, her mom (Moore) is a woman having a tough time moving on following a divorce from her husband (Jane). Greene would appear as a high school bad girl and Lola's nemesis, Hinshaw will play Lola's best friend, and Booth is on board to play Lola's new love interest. Lisa Azuelos, who directed the original film, will helm the remake.
LOL will be released in 2011.
